Off the coast of Vladivostok, Russia, the 3622 ft (1104 m) long central span of which will establish a new record in the world bridge building practice.   The bridge will also have the highest pylons and the longest cable stays.   The design of the bridge has been determined on the basis of the shortest coast-to-coast distance of 4,790 ft (1460 m) and the severe climate conditions: Temperatures vary from -24° F (-31°C) to +98° F (+37°C) with a storm wind velocity of up to 80 mph (130 km/h). storm wave height of up to 6 m (20ft) and ice formation in winter of up to 70 cm (2.3 ft).   Construction of the bridge will be completed by June 2012, ahead of September's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.
