The feat was achieved by the Alsatian cyclist on a former military airfield near Mulhouse in Haut-Rhin, France on on May 20, 2013.  The team had already set the first world record of 203 km/h in July 1995 in Switzerland.  In October 1998, it was surpassed to 236.7 km/h and in October 2002 to 242.6 km/h.   The Subaru Impreza STI is high performance specification model of the Subaru Impreza compact car line, manufactured by Japanese automaker to compete in the FIA World Rally Championship and other motorsports activities.  The Impreza STI accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 4.7 seconds (almost as fast as a Tesla ;-)
