Recife is the fourth largest metropolitan area in Brazil. The city's name means "reef" in Portuguese and is derived from the existence of coral reefs off the coast of the region. The many rivers and bridges of the city is typical in Recife and give it the nickname "Venice of Brazil".   Timelapse by Julio Brunet Rocha and Christian Perez.
