Carl Orff's 1937 composition Carmina Burana is one of the most popular pieces of the classical music repertoire. It is based on 24 bawdy, irreverent, and satirical poems from the 12th century.
The Vienna Volksoper (Vienna People's Opera) is a major opera house in Vienna, Austria.  It gives about three hundred performances of twenty-five productions during an annual season from September through June.
