Nasa unveiled its latest prototype lunar vehicle at the tail-end of Barack Obama's inauguration parade in Washington DC. Astronauts will return to the moon in 2020.

The Lunar Electric Rover was tested in the Arizona desert in October 2008 and is run by a plug-in electric Lithium-ion battery.
