This latest panoramic image from Spirit was released Jan 3, 2008. According to NASA it was taken in late 2007 atop "Home Plate". Is it a "Martian Mermaid", the “Thinking Martian” or just a Martian's garden gnome? ;) The original photo by NASA, provides a great view of the red planet. The object is at the left edge of the image, about 2/3 down.
