This flight was over twice as long as the previous world record of 19.4 seconds by Akira Naito in 1994.

A $250,000 "Sikorsky Prize" will be awarded to the first person to reach an altitude of 3 metres (10 feet) during a flight of at least 60 seconds, while remaining within a 10-metre (32.8 ft) square.
