A hippo saves a young wildebeest (aka gnu) that had been attacked by a crocodile in the Mara River in Kenya.

Photographer Vadim Onishchenko captured this footage at a photo safari in 2011.  He said in an interview with MailOnline that even the experienced guides were surprised to see this kind of a behavior from the Hippos.  The Gnu eventually managed to walk away from the ordeal and looked uninjured.
