Epic Mudslide Caught On Camera

Global National reporter Francis Silvaggio got up close and personal with a devastating mudslide in Johnsons Landing, British Columbia.
Silvaggio”™s camera crew also captured a narrow escape by a couple on another boat, just moments before trees came crashing down onto the water. July 13, 2012.
A mudslide is the most rapid (up to 80 km/h, or 50 mph) and fluid type of downhill mass wasting. It is a rapid movement of a large mass of mud formed from loose soil and water.
Heavy rainfall, snowmelt, or high levels of ground water flowing through cracked bedrock may trigger such a movement.
