The VW Type 166 Schwimmwagen ("Swimming Car") amphibious four-wheel drive off-roader was used extensively by the German army during the Second World War.  Between 1942 and 1944 over 14,000 units were produced, making it the most numerous mass-produced amphibious car in history.  Wiki   The Amphicar Model 770 is the first mass-produced amphibious automobile for sale to the public.  Between 1961 and 1968 4,000 units were made by the Quandt Group in Germany.  Wiki
