Duxford airfield near Cambridge, England to mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain (5 Sep 2010).
The Spitfire was a British single-seat fighter aircraft that was used by the Royal Air Force and many other Allied countries throughout the Second World War. It was produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft. Over 20,000 were built.   The Battle of Britain is the name given to the World War II air campaign waged by the German Air Force (Luftwaffe) against the United Kingdom during the summer and autumn of 1940.
