The Kitty Hawk Flyer is a new, all-electric aircraft.  It is safe, tested and legal to operate in the United States in uncongested areas under the FAR 103 Ultralight category of FAA regulations.  It is designed to be flown over fresh water.  The Flyer will begin go on sale by the end of 2017.  Pricing will be revealed closer to launch.  The go-to-market Flyer will have a different design than the prototype featured in the current (April 2017) photos and videos.  Frequently Asked Questions:  FAQ   Regarding noise, test pilot Cimeron Morrissey says: "It's about as loud as a Harley.
