The official NASA Space Shuttle has finally been retired. In honor of the great achievements that came from the shuttle, German space enthusiasts launched a Lego model of the space shuttle into space, carried by a weather balloon.

The launch took place from central Germany and reached a maximum altitude of 115,000 fet (35 km). A 1600g meteo balloon filled with helium was used alongside a GoPro Hero, Spot GPS and of course Lego Space Shuttle model 3367.   Music: "Welcome Home"
