Thanks to modern technology, one of your most dangerous childhood dreams just came true.

Brooklyn-based arts collective The Madagascar Institute had never tested their home-built jet-powered merry-go-round with people on it. So Popular Mechanics' Seth Porges volunteered his life to be the first human ever to take a jet-powered ride on this steam punk-inspired machine. Here is his maiden voyage.
